Philanthropy, Fellowships & Activism
I am completely committed to working with non-profit sector. I work as a Bridger between the philanthropic and non-profit worlds that I deeply believe in their missions.
Fellowships
Supporting front-line activists in their leadership development in working with movements, whether it’s around racial justice, democracy and human rights. Oppressive regimes fundamentally cap human development and freedom, and that just pisses me off. It puts people into small spaces and diminishes their capacity for thriving and contribution.
Examples:
Rodenberry Fellows
Oslo Freedom Forum Fellows
Starting Bloc Fellows
Unreasonable Institute Fellows
Thiel Fellows
TED Fellows
The Wellbeing Project
Process: Pro Bono. Limited spaces per year based on alignment.
Philanthropy
Philanthropists typically engage me to offer executive coaching & development consulting. There is a some crossover with consulting work -- bridging both worlds in the work and finding the deeper balance.
One foot completely committed to working with non-profit sector. Bridger between these worlds.
Examples:
The Hearthland Foundation
Previous foundations:
SH Powell Foundation
Wikimedia Foundation
Activism
Examples:
DEI Work (Embrace Race)
Human Rights peace on China
Activist Support
Working with Non-Profits.
Keeps in touch with global human rights
“Ancient Polynesian wayfinders didn’t rely on mechanical precision but took into account the vast interplay between the skies and the weather, seeing certain birds in their flight paths who only go specific distances from their nests, the distinct deep swells of the ocean itself that would identify the presence of distant atolls beyond the horizon.
Wayfinding honors complexity.
Beyond what Rebecca Solnit calls the tyranny of the quantifiable, cultivating the capacity to sense and even play with ambiguity creates the possibility for an exquisite sense of timing, the right action for the right moment, and working at scale to see patterns, to amplify effects, to catalyze change.”
